Movement Observation: 10 year old Rene Serrano (WOW!)

Rene Serrano

My husband showed me this video a few weeks ago and it’s just been simmering in the back of my mind. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not really “athletic.” And truth be told, skateboarding is not something I’ve ever really wanted to do (read: I’m kind of a chicken and prefer my “floor” to be wheel-less). But I absolutely love watching this clip. This kid (yes, he is only 10!) has obvious core support. But there are so many other subtle things he utilizes to really make the skateboard an extension of himself. Take a look and leave a comment with your thoughts:

What makes him so good? What does he utilize in his body and movement that work for him?

Just a reminder, you don’t need to know LMA to see and talk about movement. I’ll post later with my thoughts, but for now I want to your YOURS!
